Hi, my kids each have a hand me down iPhone 4s. the oldest has minecraft and it often freezes or shuts down. my other 2 kids want to get minecraft too. is the iPhone 4s incapable of handling minecraft? do I have to create an itune account for each kid or can I use my acct to purchase for each phone? thx!

My son has a 8GB 4s. He plays Minecraft on it all the time as well as other games. Does just fine. He even plays head to head with my daughter running Minecraft on my iPad.
Possibly, you may just want to restore the phone and go from there.
As far as Apple IDs, you can look into family sharing. You add your kids as a separate ID under your own account (which generates iCloud email and Apple IDs for them). You can thus control what they can download on to the device as well as much all your purchases available to them.
