i have a mini originally 1.1 single core: upgraded to 2.0 dual 2 with the 2gb of ram, wanted to get away from the old crt i was using and found an inexpensive used flat screen to get me through. the screen is a gateway FPD1940. when turning on the comp from off or sleep the monitor will turn itself off and wont come back on and will have a loud buzz until i take out the display cable, most times ill have to remove the cable three or four times until it will accept it and turn on, while the monitor is up and running with the mini its fine. any help would be extremely appreciated

Gave you please give us some more info as for the settings on your Mac as well as the monitor (I am assuming the Monitor is auto-detect)? What does the refresh rate look like, what cable are you using?

Have you also tired hooking your monitor up to another box and see if the same problem happens?

i am using a dvi cord from mac to monitor. the refresh rate is set at 60 hz, with a resolution of 1280x1024 ,it is on autoselect and the mini is factory for the 2006 1.5 solo core minus cpu and ram upgrades. i currently do not have a pc to try it on, and have removed the back cover to the monitor now to look at the boards under the first layer, nothing looks damaged and all connectors looked tight, but it is a lg monitor sold by gateway by id plates inside the back cover
