Monitor recommendation for Graphic Design/Photoshop/Illustrator Work

Hi all

I am trying to help out the graphic designers at my work. They bought some Samsung U28E590D but they are not happy with these monitors. They claim that it has a washed out look and an inconsistency in the color where the top of the monitor is darker than the bottom of the monitor. I'm not a graphic designer myself but when I look at it, I can see what they are talking about. So to them it's really annoying.

So I'm reaching out to my friends at MacRumors to see if anyone has any suggestions on monitors that are around 28-inch or so (a little flexible on size) and with a higher screen resolution like 3840 x 2160. Would prefer a IPS display mainly because of the consistency of the panel. We would like to stay in the $400 - $500 range if possible unless there is a monitor that just blows everything out of the water in that $600 - $700 range.

What would you recommend?

Your budget seems more in line with either upperline "used" or refurb or consider the higher end Dell and HP monitors. They are IPS monitors and have some good bang for the buck. Eizo and NEC would be my top choices but they are out of the budget you presented.

I searched the internet before purchase and found more than one site recommending the DELL U2715H, and it's an excellent monitor for my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014). I'm a Graphic Designer and i have the BENQ BL3200, there are two versions, one in wqhd and one in 4k. I have the lowest resolution version and is incredible. A huge 32' monitor with vivid and accurate colors. This is my recommendation. Price is around 400$ and 800$ depending on which one. There is also a version in 27' with 4k resolution for 450$ BL2711U.

Any Dell Ultrasharp model will do great for them. But it must be an Ultrasharp model (generally they cost a bit more than the nearly identical model that isn't).

Prices vary so much nowadays, it's hard to be 'general' about it. That being said, you're probably not going to get anything that's color accurate enough for graphic design work for less than $600-$700 at a 27" size.

It seems like you need an RGB LED, which will be hard to find in that price range. However, if you don't need RGB, you have a lot to choose from.
