I have a 2021 Macbook Pro Max and am looking for an ultrawide monitor for photo and video editing. Right now I am using a 27" BENQ (non 4k) monitor that does 100% SRGB and 98% Adobe RGB. Would like to find something that can do a high percentage of Adobe RGB or P3. I've been looking at the LG 34" and 38" ultrawide but the reviews are inconsistent. I don't really need a 49" super ultrawide. I'm ok spending $1500-$1800 on a monitor. I would buy the new studio display but the 16:9 ratio isn't really working for me as I like to have a tutorial video up while doing that tutorial on my image/video.

Anyone have good experience or recommendations on a monitor that would fit my needs?

Thanks
Robert

I think there issues using nonstandard aspect ratios with M1 macs. You want to check through this in detail before you consider something that isn't 16:9.

Yeah I've been using an MSI PS341WU for about a year now. If you use this monitor in clamshell mode on your MacBook, just know you'll have to turn the monitor off and on again to get the Mac to recognize it. Also resolution is 3008x1269 if you want to be able to read any text. Pretty pathetic Apple (and vendors apparently) haven't figured out this problem yet.
