iPhone Monitoring Software for iPhone

I've been through multiple monitoring software for iPhone, and it doesn't get me what I want. I have a jailbroken iPhone 4 (6.1.3). I own the phone, so there's no problem there. I want to read all text messages (SMS/iMessage) as well as record all outgoing and incoming calls to that phone. I've been able to find software that does everything but record the calls. It goes without saying, but the software needs to be invisible. The user must not know it's there.

Any recommendations?

In other words spyware to record all that info without the person that's using it to know you can see everything.
Not sure if that's even legal even if you do own the device without user consent.
Search on google and cydia more. I never had the need for that kind of hacks.

It's for my kids. Last I checked that cannot be illegal. They're using my devices. I figure if they don't want to risk being tracked, get your own phone or wait until you're 18. If it is indeed illegal, I'll need to see proof.

How is that disturbing? Ever heard of accountability? Like I said, they shouldn't be using my devices if they're worried about privacy. My hope is that they have nothing to hide.

I've done plenty of searching. What I come up with is garbage, or doesn't give me everything I want.

I can imagine many people not needing this. But here's the thing: I do. Parental monitoring is not unheard of.

Results tend to be better when you don't know you're being monitored. Would you be more likely to do what you're not supposed to if your parents told you that? Probably not! You shouldn't have to be warned. Do the right thing whether you know you're being monitored or not.

Is anyone actually going to help me? I'm happy to abide by the rules, but I wish to follow the path of monitoring software.

In the U.S. its federal law that at least one person included in the conversation needs to give consent (even if that is the person who is doing the recording).

But you can't just set up a recording device on someones phone and then record that person from afar unless you are part of the conversation. Same as if the OP was wiretapping your or my phone it would be highly illegal.

As for other countries? I personally don't care as Macrumors is based out of the U.S.

You are correct in your remarks concerning the USA, although discussing the matter is not illegal, the actual taping it without consent might be.

Besides that the rest of the world ofcourse does matter, a 'go-it-alone' mentality has gotten the USA in to trouble more then once..

If the OP is in the U.S., at least one state (South Carolina) has said that there must be a "good faith and objectively reasonable basis" for recording a child's phone calls. Of course, that itself is subjective. I haven't checked if other state's Supreme Courts have made a similar ruling because I don't have the time or inclination.

I don't get why you won't even want to give them an ounce of privacy, you sound like the type of parent that removes their kids' door at their house.
If you want to know where they are use the app 'find my iPhone' or/and 'find my friends'. The rest IDK because I'm not weird... you can always ask the NSA.

It is quite illegal in many countries and states/provinces if you do not have consent or the third party have no knowledge of you recording them. You can download an app on your device called "Google Voice" which lets you record telephone conversations, but when it is enabled the other person will be alerted of the recording, you can find out more about Google Voice at the link provided below.

Stealthgenie has this feature. Though most kids rarely talk anymore. Just check your usage from your carrier and you will probably find that very few calls are actually made. As far as the third party laws go, as a parent letting your kids know that at any time you can monitor, read, view, the phone they are using is a disclaimer. Just like the " All calls can be monitorred for quality assurance" message. If your kids are over 18, 17 in some states, you may have an issue. However, once you look at what the usage of calls compared to imessage, facebook, pintrest, istagram, etc is, the call issue will be the least of your concerns. I know not everyone agrees with taking the stance that you are, but I'm sure you have your reasons. If being paranoid, or untrustworthy by other people's standards, saves your kids pain or from making a really stupid decision then so be it. Kids can have privacy when they turn 18 and move out. The web site for stealthgenie also offers live chat, so you can confirm the legality of your particular circumstance prior to purchase. Also know that no software like this currently works with IOS7 and the device will have to be jailbroke. Good luck to you.
