I'm beginning to have second thoughts about buying an imac and am considering a mac mini as I have seen some great looking LCD monitors. Can anyone recommend a good monitor for a mac mini and what should I consider as far as resolution. I like the imac but am concerned about the monitors on the 20 inch.

I have BenQ E2400HD as my secondary monitor with iMac. I've liked it a lot. Nice price, great inputs and OK picture
I recently purchased a new mini and picked up a close out of the 20" cinema display. Apple had been carrying refurbs of these monitors on their site. Its still a little expensive, but the two look great together and I love the monitor on it own.

I have the 2.0GHz C2D Mac Mini. I was doing dual displays, but currently I cant fit both on my desk. Right now I am using a single, 21.5" Dell 1080p display that was $170 when I got it, $200 now:

Works great, highly recommended. My Mac Mini is tucked away nicely, just a monitor on my desk. Great combo.

+1 - I picked up two of these for $450 shipped and couldn't be happier. Go on youtube.com and type in 2209wa to see them in the action. I like the one that shows the UP trailer - gives you a great idea of how awesome the viewing angles are and the colors.
Price, ability to choose your own monitor, price, size of computer, price...

I have the HP 2009M connected to my Mac Mini at a 1600x900 resolution. It is 20 inches. The monitor looks fantastic and I highly recommend it. It is also quite cheap for its size.

Anyway, regarding your monitor, Dell monitors are the best bang for your buck
