Monterey 12.1 will not update on my MacBook Air

This MacBook is relatively new, within a year old, date on the computer is 2020. I have been getting a notification for a few weeks now that i have an update for Monterey 12.1 but it will not allow me to update. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you so much!

What do you see in System Preferences > Software update? How does it not allow you to update?
What OS are you on now, 11.x Big Sur or 12.0x Monterey?
If you are on Big Sur, you can also open App Store and search for Monterey.

I wouldn't bother...seems all kinds of weird things happening with 12.1.

I would. There is but a tiny yet vocal minority that has problems, as is the usual case.
