Long shot here but ..... I use WeatherCat app with my Davis Vue weather station and upload data to Weather Underground. At some point WeatherCat no longer can send emails (email is a cox.net address) to me and I think it may have started when I installed Monterey. The app settings are unchanged from the point when is was working although I created a new preference file and I've tried various smtp ports to no avail. I'm using a M1, and Monterey is up to date. I get an immediate email 'failed' message when I try to send a test email which makes me think it's some interaction between the OS, WeatherCat and/or my Mac since there isn't time for it to be sent to the Cox outgoing mail server.

the email account I'm using is my primary email and it works everywhere else.

anyway .... I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction

TIA

Same issue here. Davis Vantage VUE with WeatherCat on an MBA w/ M1 chip running Monterey (12.6.2), and get an immediate error when I Test using my gmail address and the standard gmail SMTP server name. Also does the same thing with a hotmail address and SMTP.live.com.

Long story, short answer: install Xcode if you have space. it's a pretty big file. I don't know why this works but it does. And use port 587.

also, we've discovered a way to get WeatherCat alerts by text rather than by email. This is from the WeatherCat board at trixology.com I'm not sure if the mods allow inserting text from another site but ...

"You can receive text alerts from WeatherCat by sending it like an email directly to the mobile number.
I have my admin emails in WeatherCat setup to go to both an email account and text to me and it works well, attached is a screen shot of a test message received by text.
These cellular service providers can send email to text using the following format:

AT&T:
5551234567@mms.att.net

Verizon:
5551234567@vtext.com

T-Mobile:
5551234567@tmomail.net

Sprint:
1234567890@messaging.sprintpcs.com

If you use a different provider do a web search for "'your provider name' email to text".
If you use more than one address, separate each with a comma and space."

Obviously insert your cell phone number before the @.
