Same. Although I still have the proper icon. Just made a thread about it: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/launchpad-contains-monterey-installation-program.2319288/i have a leftover "Install MacOS Monterey" gray icon with a question mark in the Launchpad?! How to get rid of it, i can't see the installer anymore in Applications
If you do an erase all contents, it removes it. Make sure you do a backup first because the Data partition will go bye bye.i have a leftover "Install MacOS Monterey" gray icon with a question mark in the Launchpad?! How to get rid of it, i can't see the installer anymore in Applications

I think wiping the whole computer to get rid of an icon might be a little overkill...If you do an erase all contents, it removes it. Make sure you do a backup first because the Data partition will go bye bye.
that fixed it, thxThe icon can be gotten rid of by first clicking on it (you'll notice after you do this it'll show as a '?' icon), then going back into Launchpad, clicking and holding on the icon to go into 'wiggle' mode, and then deleting it by clicking the 'x' that appears.
