Monterey on MBA M2 Question

Hi Everyone.. Quick question.. I have a new MBA M2 arriving Monday.. Not sure what will be installed Monterey or Ventura. Being the MBA M2 came with Montery can I downgrade to Monterey if it does come with Ventura? TIA

I bought an MBP in Jan 2020, after Catalina was released in late 2019. It came with Mojave installed so I guess it depends on when the device was manufactured.

I think you are correct. The old rule of thumb was if it had one OS on it when it arrived to you , u cant go backwards. I think being this MBA M2 was out with Monterey and Ventura just came out this laptop will be able to install Monterey. See the link :

You can install macOS Monterey on any of these Mac models.

That machine was released when Monterey was the current macOS, you'll be able to downgrade the OS if it comes with Ventura (which is probably unlikely anyway).

That's what I figured! Thank you... I am thinking it will arrive with Monterey. It was shipped a week ago. Arriving Monday.
