Mooing - it's back ?!?

I have started to hear an ever-so-soft and gentle sounding 'mooing' sound from my stock C2D MBP - has anyone realised this?

It sounds like it only 'kicks in' when the machine has been working for a while..

• AC adapter was plugged in...
• smc was reporting a temperature of between 50 / 60 degrees C, so it can't be overheating i'd have thought..

(was working in GarageBand IIMAD)

Anyone else getting the same?

Firmware & software is up to date etc

its Probably just your fans kicking into a really high speed because your macbook pro is getting too hot...download the fan control and see what RPM the fans are at when you are "hear" this

just under 2000 rpm each...

I can tell when they kick in really hard - i made them do so before using smc... This is a low-volume, intermittent "moooooo......woooo.......moooooo" type sound; whereas the 'getting hot' sound is like a small plane taking off hehehe..

Anyone else getting this?

I got it 3 times now. Weird noise. It freaked me out. The last time I got it, I closed the lead and it went off, Opened the lead again and it kicked off. I did that twice, and I still have the noise. I switched off the MBP, waited for a minute and switch it back on again. The Mooing was gone.

The 1st and 2nd time I heard the mooing, I changed the place of the laptop, from my lap to the floor. The mooing was gone.

Mine comes on a random times but mostly when the screen gets dim after not using the display for awhile...

I dont hear anything from mine except the noise the hard drive makes, which to me sounds like a disk spinning on a napkin (muffled spinning noise).

I was so paranoid about mooing noises the past few days, at once point I thought it was happening but then I shut it down and realised it was my subwoofer, which apparently decides to make a weird low pitch capacitor-like noise all the time (even with the speakers off)

My C2D MB emits a fan whine that is audibly, faint but audible, when it spins roughly 2630-40. It goes away if the fan speeds up or slows down. Is it that kind of noise you hear? I haven't decided yet whether I find the sound untolerable or not. I sure wish it wasn't there but for now I "fixed" it by putting my fans at 2700 rpm or more.

Oh noo, please no! I'm about to replace my Macbook with a MBP C2D, and I had the moo until they fixed the firmware, so I know what it's like! To anyone who never heard it: it's terrible and steals your ability to concentrate on anything!

So if my MBP moos, it's going straight back and I'll stick with the MB.

I have C2D MBP and there is no mooing on mine. It is as quiet as my other PBs. Compared to C2D MBP, my iBook was way louder (because of the louder fan noise).
I think Apple has already fixed so called "mooing" issues.
