So the first month of jailbroken was great... now having issues after the latest update to the JB in cydia installed....

- Facebook loads then crashed (tried reinstall, nada)
- Chrome crashes on some pages (tried all the posted remedies, nada)
- Chase mobile banking loads and just goes to blank blue screen

A bit disappointed. I have the same problem across multiple devices (both iPhone and iPad), and on the iPad I don't have tweaks installed... so it's something with the latest cydia jb update. :-(

I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned this. I also have the issue of Facebook force closing a lot, along with other apps. The problem is mad worse when music is playing..many apps cause the music to stop playing along with the force close..

Appears xCon was the issue. xCon updated at the same time as the last JB version, so I assumed it was the JB. xCon posted an update today and now I have updated and facebook and chase work just fine, so apparently that was the issue.

Restore and try again. This might be your last opportunity, once 6.1.3 hits it's going to be over. Right now you can just restore as you wish. You won't be able to do that in the future.

Why is it going to "be over" ??? My SHSH are saved, so I don't think if Apple stops signing the current version that it'll "be over"

Just because you have shsh does not mean you'll be able to downgrade/restore to a version apple is no longer signing. Yes, sure, you can wait for there to be a method but how long are you willing to wait? Days? Weeks? Months? 1 year or two?

I'm just trying to say how depending on shsh to downgrade/restore is unreliable

Maybe one day the situation will get worse and all apps crash after 5 seconds. If that were to happen, then you or anyone won't have the luxury of waiting; you would be forced to restore and not be able to jailbroken the phone for a very long time, I would assume, assuming there will be one

Since the xCon update, I haven't had the crashing app issue. I attribute it to a bug in the last version of xCon, as everything seems smooth now, so I'm not concerned.

Thanks!

Shsh are useless now.

Go to the dev teams blog if you don't believe me.

Obviously you didn't fully read "Restoration reinvigoration" from their blog. SHSH are not "useless" so stop spreading misinformation.

It's actually useless.

iOS 6 changes things, follow them on twitter. iOS5-5 restores were possible, but not 6-5, even if you have blobs.

If you have any device that's newer than the iPhone 4 that is, and that's all iPads that can run iOS 6.

That's not the end all be all though. They still have hope (reserved hope I imagine lol) that they will hopefully someday release a re-restore tool similar to what they accomplished on iO5.

Unless of course they came out on twitter and said that there will never ever be a tool to re-restore your device on iOS6. If they made this statement I didn't see it nor am I aware of anything like it.

Are you saying that they released a statement saying they will never release a restore tool? If so that is very sad news as I had been holding on to a sliver hope they had an ace up their sleeve for these restorals. Before they released evasion they made it painstakingly clear to update to iOS6 via iTunes and not OTA. The reason behind this was because in the chance that a restore tool would get released, people who updated via iTunes would be able to take advantage of this re-restore with their SHSH blobs.

Wait. You mean to tell me that when Apple said jailbreaking caused "instability" and "programs not to run properly" they WEREN'T just saying that to scare people???

Look, jailbreaking is fine and all, but this is definitely a price you pay. And for all of the "just uninstall the tweak and everything works again" folks, tell that to the people who can no longer send MMS via iMessage even AFTER uninstalling every tweak. Jailbreaking has unintended consequences, and after Apple closes the hole, your option will be to live with the problems or lose the jailbreak (and all of the time/effort/and money that you've put into the jailbroken experience).

I have had random crashes, longer boot times, boot hangs, inability to send MMS via iMessage, etc. I'm also pretty sure my battery life has gotten worse (which is likely due to the tweaking, and I accept that, but it's still a decrease).

Is it worth it? Kinda. Not nearly as much as it used to be.

I'm not sure why people cling to the ideal that jailbreaking has NO ill effects. It does. It's just whether or not they're worth the reward.

Once apple closes the hole, chances are you're stuck. SHSH blobs or not.

The only reason they save the blobs now is in the HOPE that at some point in the future they will be useful.

Hope in one hand and shi..., well, I'm sure you've heard the rest...
