Spent a while at Apple Stote tonight with my boys. They love the place like I do. Games everywhere. Had a chance to really compare the XS, XSM & my 8+.
The XSM is the video king. Period. If video consumption is your thing, XSM is your phone.
When editing photos in Phone app (all I had access to compare) the size of the photo being edited on the XSM is barely larger than that on XS. However, the size of the photo being edited on the 8+ is KING.. almost 10mm wider IMO.
Text/reading it’s the XSM then XS then 8+ (close to XS). ... but scrolling isn’t hard.
Random:
- Articles in News app were very close between the XSM & XS. In-article images slightly smaller on X.. tad more text on XSM.
- Good big of wasted space on XSM & I don’t think ‘optimizing’ helps in many areas like photos and reading news/text. IMO, massive amount of wasted space on the XSM in/with Photos.
No winner. It’s what you prefer. Based off my comparison the best phone for me is keeping my 8+. .. but I am 90% going smaller. The XS I wanted was in-stock. Was hard not to pull the trigger. The lack of major difference in photos between XSM & XS takes some points from XSM. I am not a video person on iPhone. That’s my iPad’s thing.
