Last time I had a few questions, they were answered very nicely. So I think I'll come back here for help! :D

Anyways, I've got a few more iPhone questions I'd like to be answered before I purchase.

1. I've already got an iTunes account. The thing is, when I signed up, I signed up with a pre-paid iTunes card. Now, I saw the activation video, and no where did I see the requirement of a credit card, so I'm assuming that by "You must have a credit card" they meant for signing up for an account on the iTunes Store. So, if I have an iTunes account already, will they ask me for a credit card even if I made the account without one?

2. I heard you can minus $20 from your bill if you take away the "data plan." Well, what if you have a family plan, witch is $80 with the iPhone on it, (you add $20), well then wouldn't that make your bill $60? Meaning the $20 you just added is completely gone? So your back down to $60?

Thanks.

Once you have an iTunes account, you have an iTunes account... it doesn't matter if you got it by redeeming a single iTunes code three years ago or if you've established the account with a credit card.

Yes but does this mean I won't need a credit card for activating my iPhone? Or will they pull some last-minute bull **** during the activation process?

1. They're talking about having a credit card for when you buy the iPhone in a store, but still, you need to have a credit card hooked up too iTunes to activate the phone no matter what. I think that was what you were asking?

2. No it wouldn't, it would still be $80. Look at it this way.

You have 2 phones, and pay $80 monthly. You get rid of one of them for an iPhone. If you kept the data plan, it would be $20 more a month, but since you don't add the data plan, it will be about the same as before.

1. What? I saw the video, and no where did I see it ask for a credit card number... Heres a screenshot of the info they were asking from him (activation video from Apple.com, NOT ME):

Or are you saying that if I don't have a credit card on my iTunes account, they'll just make me put one in before I finish activation? If that's the case, could you show me a link or something because I'd like to be sure. Thanks.

2. Wait! You can get a Family Plan for $60 a month. Now you have to add the iPhone's data plan, which is $20 more. So that would mean you'd end up paying $80 a month. But if you take away the data plan, you'd end up with only $60 a month, I don't get how you end up with $80 still. That'd be like not taking anything away....

You definitely need a credit or debit card to activate the iPhone, from what I know, its the only way.

Yeah, and that's fine. Its just I'd like to know where it says that. I'll be adding an iPhone to an already existing AT&T Family Plan and I don't see where it says that. I could see how they say that because you need an iTunes account and the "right" way to make an iTunes account is to use a credit or debit, but I already have one, and don't see where it says I need one...

1. I'm not completely sure, and don't want to tell you the wrong thing, but i'm almost positive you need to have some kind of payment method hooked up to iTunes already, and if you don't, it's asked when you activate.

2. You can't get a family plan for $60 a month. That's for a single line. If you deactivate the data plan, then it would be $40. They probably give you the option to not have a data plan when activating now, unlike before.
Family plans start at $109

No, you can get an AT&T family plan, then just add the iPhone onto it for $20 bucks. Meaning you'd only end up spending $80/month.
