Wouldthis be a more possible way to get a jailbreakable one? I remember lo g after mac os x 10.8.3 came out, i got a refurb imac on 10.8.1.

I would assume the opposite. If I were running apple's logistics and inventory, I would ship the oldest devices to my contracted carriers as opposed to the newest devices fresh off the assembly line. I could be completely wrong though. Maybe their contracts state the carriers get the newest devices manufactured.
I dunno man. Maybe some other embers will chime in with personal experience. Otherwise its anyone's guess.
oh, i should have mentioned, I'm getting a replacement phone through apple, not getting a brand new 5.
Alright, thats what i figured. Oh well. I guess i will leave it stock untill ios 7 is jailbroken.
