ok, they waited till a week before just to tell us it will have YouTube???? theres gotta be more, if not then the only thing i can think of is that the plans are astronomical, and they are waiting until last minute so people have already made up their minds, and so stock doens't plummit or something

I say the opposite. Who would post bad news after good? I'd want the bad news out asap THEN follow it with good news. I'm waiting for a rabbit out of the hat here!

Apple would have nothing to gain by releasing bad news at this point, it's too close to GO time. I would say that no news means bad news, but anything released will be good news, at least in the eyes of Apple/at&t.

but do you all agree theres more? i dont' know why they kept the YouTube thing such a secret, its not THAT much of a turn on,

It is doing a trend of every other day now... I am suspecting plans on Friday. Something on Friday. Next week we may see some new functionality but I am not holding my breath on that.

im thinking there isnt anything else they will announce... i think the rest of the info will just be things we are waiting on, such as pricing plans and maybe some more accessories or something... they will probably release some more photos like the packaging and what comes in the box, but i dont think there are any more features.. hopefully im wrong...

I am expecting a couple more press releases prior to the 29th. I agree with Darwin, I think we'll get more info on Friday and then probably 1 more press release Tuesday or Wednesday. After that, I think everything else will come out during release. I'm hoping for 1 more functional announcement but beyond that I think we'll only get information on plans, accessories, etc...

im hoping more demos come out.. maybe like the camera app, or the settings menu.. im curious to see what they look like...

I agree. They probably just finished the application. Apple never said they had a super secret application they were waiting to release on the iPhone.

my question is....

will this be available out of the box or will it require an immediate update?? For that matter, will anything be available out of the box or the reason for needing iTunes for activation is so it can perform an initial software load to make the phone usable???

I thought I read somewhere that iPhones have already begun shipping to the stores. That would mean either YouTube was pre-installed and just announced (possible), you will need to update the iPhone immediately for YouTube software (likely), or you need to update iPhone immediately for everything (maybe).

Thoughts???

who knows,

do you think that iTunes update will be available immediatly on the 29th, or at 6pm?

I don't understand why people think the plans are going to be different than what the current ATT plans are. I think its all just wishful thinking.

The rumor mill was recently churning out that iPhones won't arrive at stores until the afternoon of the 29th. Not sure they can arrive THAT late, but hey, it's Apple.

From BGR:
All AT&T stores will be closing at around 4:30PM on the 29th. Everybody will be kicked out of the store, which will then reopen at 6PM for the sale of the Apple iPhone. In addition to closing at 4:30PM, AT&T stores will be staying open late. We've heard up until 12AM. So now you know your attack plan, but what exactly are they doing when they rush us out the door at 4:30PM? Well, they're expecting the iPhone shipments to hit stores around 4-6PM that day. Make no mistake about it, this was Apple's genius shipping plan, to make sure devices were not sold early before the release date.
