More options for power users? Maybe next year?

IMO (and a bit of a rant), what I would love to see is an "I'm not an idiot" mode, or at the least the option to turn off some of these things that are just not helpful to power users, like popups nagging you to update to the latest version of pages, or delete confirmations for messages, the blue dots on updated apps, etcetera. It seems with each new version of iOS more and more of this handholding BS shows up.

Well why should that be Apple's responsibility regardless? It sucks, but the end user shall always be accountable for their actions. It would be like blaming your parents for your problems in life because they allowed you to be born.

That doesn't mean Apple or anyone else can't offer sympathy and support but it doesn't take the responsibility away from the person who did it.

Not sure if it is considered power user, but why the hell can I still not be returned to my inbox after deleting a message in the default mail app while in reading mode? Really. I like using mail. Suits my needs and works great otherwise.

Really thought they might finally make this an option, lol.

If someone wanders into settings and turns all the safeties off (which is all I really want) then thats on them. No different than using a tablesaw without the guards.

Nonsense. How many times have their been stories in the press lambasting Apple because someone’s photos disappeared or their movies got deleted, and it turns out to be caused by something the user actually did, overriding alerts along the way? Apple doesn’t need the support and public relations headaches from people who blame them despite disabling safeguards.

That’s more the fault of the press and sloppy journalism. They don’t care if what they publish is fact or fiction, as long as they are first.

This idea of removing ones personal responsibility is what is destroying society. As long as there is a warning pop up alerting the user to the potential outcomes. Then after that it isn’t Apple’s problem.

I run a few apps on my MacBook Pro in beta form, they clearly state that as a beta any data within may be unstable. So I maintain physical backups on an external hard drive. If i didn’t and lost the data then it would be my issue as the warning was clearly there when I installed the beta version.
