Running at network of 5 mac through gigabit ethernet, quark files are saved on server. When one user opens and saves occasionally when the next user comes to open quark will quit, the original user then has to re open and save the file again for the 2nd user to work, not on specific computers happens randomly.
All machines running Mac OS X 10.5.4 and Quark 7.31
 
With fewer people using Quark each day, especially working from a server, I'd post this topic over at Quark Forums. With participation from Quark engineers and developers, it's usually my first port of call when I've had rare problems.

It could be a number of things, including file permission issues.
 
I suggest you definitely give InDesign a shot...

If you know anything about illustrator, you'll love it...and wonder why you didn't switch sooner? :D
