I know more questions here I go:
The PB is equipped with two OS'es the Mac OS 9 and the Mac OS X.It also says that it boots from Mac OS 9.Can I order the PB with only one OS installed and of course this would be only the Mac OS X?
When is the target release date of the 10.3?Is it still September?

The 15 inch PowerBook is the only current PowerBook that supports Dual Booting (Can boot into Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X) The new 12 inch and 17 inch PowerBooks come with Mac OS X only but can emulate Mac OS 9 using "Classic" mode. Booting to Mac OS 9 can not be done with the 12 inch and 17 inch PowerBooks because it is not supported.

Hope this clears things up :D

with os x only machines, classic is very unnoticeable. i never use it (with my 12) and it really doesn't bother me that the capability is there. only time you notice it is if you actually start classic or open older files with os 9 application designation. so there's no real need to "worry" that having an os capability other than X will bother you in any way... this is probably true for dual boot machines too.

if you wanted to, you can go on forever just using OS X and not even know you have the "other" OS...

OS9 also only uses up about 500-700MB of disk space. if you really don't want OS9 on there, just stick in the OS X cd and boot from it, erase the hard drive from the disk utility and then install OS X from the cd...and...tada! no more OS 9
