As a former BB user, I really missed the push email. So of course, I signed up for the free trial of the mobile me account.

Once the email hits the mobile me server, it pushes IMMEDIATELY!! (yay!!)

HOWEVER.....

It takes forever to get to the mobile me account.

I thought maybe it was my outgoing server on the account I was testing from... but emails from that account hit right away in other accounts I have (work, volunteer email and another web email).

No matter which of the four email addresses I have that I send from... it takes forever to get to my mobile me in box.

Is that a bug? Is it something on my end or a setting?

*sigh*

Thanks!! :)

Same thing here

My mail is coming through - as far as I can tell - but it's being delayed for hours.

Luckily I've never really used .Mac for mail so most folks contact me through other addresses on other hosts.

There's not been any real progress on this issue yet apparently. Support is still shut down due to overwhelming "interest"

OK, well I guess it's not just me then. Yes, same deal - takes hours. At first I thought it was my outgoing servers, but upon further "testing" they seem to be working fine.

Kinda defeats the purpose of 'push' though. LOL.

On the otherhand - once it finally gets to my me account, it goes straight to my phone right away!!! hahah.

Push is not the issue

MobileMe has been working pretty good for about a week, but yesterday I noticed my emails were being delayed for as long as two hours before I was receiving them. It has seemed to continue for most of today. It does not seem to be a push issue since once they hit MobileMe I seem to get them within seconds. As of 4pm central time everything seems to working as it is suppose to. I would say this issue is probably a temporary issue and I hope it is now cleared up.

MobileMe has had its issues and it does lack a few basic functions but I have faith that Apple will fix the issues over the next few months.

Having push email is wonderful (when it is working correctly) :D :apple:

I normally don't mind waiting for bugs to work out - especially with free open source programs.

However, waiting a few months for bugs to be worked out on a service that is being PAID for... They really needed to work these out before they release them. :(

just noticed the same issue (have been sending to my friend on hotmail). Her emails to me are coming through delayed by hours, in fact the last one just arrived over 24 hours late!

I am switching to using my O2 email address until this issue is solved.

sorry to dig up this from the grave, email that my friends sent always arrive nicely with mobile me's push service. but sometimes when i check mail in mac, and then read it, the mail.app in iphone still shows "1" new mail until i open the mail and let it check and then the unread mail becomes not marked anymore. why iphone not automatically check it as unread after i read my mail in a mac?

all settings have been set to push either in mac or iphone.

i have the same issue. it happens not always like this. sometimes it updates very quickly.

i think something is wrong on apples mail servers because although internet is very fast on mt 3g iphone checking email takes 5 minutes because the iphones mail program is stuck on "connecting" for minutes. in this case of course the read mails don't get updated either.

push works in principle but those phases of slow connecting to mail of course also block push from happening. the entire idea of having fast email is screwed up this way because in 50% of the time i have to manually check my mail and wait for minutes to get them.

does anybody have these issues with slow mobile me mail although internet is fast as well?

is there anything i can do? change any settings? complain? cancel mobile me and change to gmail?

btw: on my mac through cable internet mail is always fast.
