So I'm really liking the weather widget in the notification bar. I was wondering do you think they will add more in the future?

I hope there will be more too! I don't have my iPhone back or iOS 5 so I was wondering if the weather widget can auto update at certain intervals or does it have to be manually refreshed?

The weather widget whenever I pull down my Notifications Center always seems to be updated. But I'm not sure how often it autoupdates.

Also, NOT having the stock widget on is a boon for 3GS users... makes the pull down of the Notifications Center seamless and much faster.

Allowing widget functionality would be awesome though. I hope they stick a widget section on App Store soon!

it really annoys me how Apple is always trying to push the stupid stocks app on us, I know there are people who want it, but I never use it hah why not make other useful things widgets like calender? or reminders?

Apple enough with the stocks! Yes i disabled it, and yes I would love it if apple opened up the platform for more widgets, seems somewhat unlikely to me though.

A news ticker and sports ticker would be really popular. It'd be cool if the's open it up to Facebook and twitter too. Maybe a ticker that shows the 10 most recent tweets in your timeline or the 10 most recent FB updates.

I keep reading how excited the jailbroken community is about creating and adding widgets to the Notification Center. I don't think we need a widget store or anything, but there is definitely somewhat of a demand growing from us iOS nerds.

A Pulse News widget would be the best! That way you can basically see anything you want. I love that app.

THIS was the reason why i had to jailbreak again. the notification center seemed rather pointless without the widget i was able to add now. apple needs to come up with something more or let devs get access to the the api

every time you pull the notification center down, it refreshes automatically.

you do get calendar and reminders in the notification center already. you have to enable them in your settings to show up in notification center. it makes calendar a lot more useful because every time you pull down the center, which is probably a lot, you get to see your calendar of what you have that day and also will show the first few things for the next day as time gets closer to tomorrow. and when you have a reminder set, it shows up in there after it goes off as well..

They just need to let 3rd party apps have widgets that the user can choose. Simple as that.

I have a feeling we will see this in a future release.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Probably as a 5.x update. It'll be one of their key new features: more widgets. Customizable the background of the Notifications screen would be cool too, but I'm not sure if it would slow down the whole process.

I suppose I do not use the Calender enough to see it in there, as it does not show anything :)
