Hello everyone :
Just bought Oblivion Game of the year edition. My current specs are as follows:
intel duo 2.66ghz
ati radeon (mobility) 2600xt
3gb ram

running off of bootcamp with windows xp

Basically the game keeps crashing on me after about 5 minutes of gameplay.

Any tips or support would be very appreciated.
thanks.

W I just called Bethesda. They pretty much said I'm f'ed since the card is not supported, but I've heard of ways to make even Crysis run on my platform. Am I going to be forced to do a ridiculously exspensive upgrade??

try to get the latest drivers from ATI and think about upgrading to windows 7. i have that card in my HP work laptop running windows 7 and play games on it all the time

Do you think you could list your system specs for sh&$$ and giggles .
I'll be getting my Internet today hopefully, and with that I guess an update to my driver would help. But since it's through bootcamp idk. And plus, since this iMac's video card(256MB) is considered for laptops too idk. Basically I've read that there's a way to make it overclock it??? Therefore making it allow it to run oblivion . Any other advice would beuch appreciated.

Please People Update.

QUestsions are again:

1. is it possible to upgrade this Video Card on my system??

2, Is it possible to make it so this video card can somehow manage the graphics for oblivion and work?

3. Shoot me now, please dont shoot me in the foot.

You cannot upgrade the video card on your iMac. However, it should run just fine. I ran Oblivion perfectly on a much older video card - a Radeon 9800 Pro.
There must be something wrong with your driver installation, your oblivion installation, or windows installation. You aren't running any Oblivion mods are you?

Whats the specific error message you get when Oblivion crashes?

I am not running any mods. I have done everything from the format, to installing with the OsX Cd's and then also dled the drivers latest. Maybe I should re install the video card?? simply uninstall then reinstall from the latest ATI site?? there is no error message btw, just crashes after 5 minutes . Thanks for your response though. Any other help would be appreciated.

also , running XP service pack 3 now.

You might try asking on the bethesda forums. They might be able to offer a better response to you over there. Perhaps the game keeps some kind of log of why its crashing.
