Just saw this at the Verge....

http://www.theverge.com/2016/5/25/11765624/walt-mossberg-apple-wwdc-2016-siri-ai-bots

I'll be looking for Apple to show a greatly expanded Siri at WWDC in a couple of weeks, and to maybe even open it to third-party developers. In fact, there's a report that Apple plans to do just that, and is also working on a Siri-powered home speaker.

Unless Apple really does these things — and keeps doing more — I will regard Siri as one of the tech world's biggest wasted opportunities.

The Apple Store
I agree with Mossberg's comment on Siri. Siri is going to be the biggest wasted opportunity if Apple doesn't get it together soon. Siri was the first mainstream personal assistant and it really hasn't gone that far in the 5 years that it has been out. Google Now is far better.

The issue with Siri is Apple purposely restricts is functionality in the name of privacy, Google, Amazon, and Microsoft have no issues with that, and so their digital assistants are much more functional and powerful. Apple needs to rethink its stance on how to equip Siri to be a meaningful assistant.

Or change its internal policies, which I don't see them doing.

I have Windows 10 and I don't use cortana. I played around with it but I'm not the digital assistant type.

I do find find Siri useful for controlling the phone though.

I don't see that happening either.

I'm on Windows 10 myself, and so far its not something that has worked into my usage. Maybe in time it will but so far it hasn't.
