Noticed today most variations of the iPad Pro on Apples UK site have a shipping date of 3 April... with only the 12.9” Silver models shipping this week.

Possible wind down of stock levels...

Launch doesn’t matter we are Diamond hands strong apes who won’t compromise.
#1. 8GB LPDDR5 RAM (my Note 20 Ultra has 12GB LPDDR5 as of now)
#2. A15X CPU TSMC 3nm on RoadMap on Schedule delivered in mass production for 2H2022 Hmmm (Gee I wonder who bought up all their mass production?)
#3. Thunderbolt 4 port full Spec compliance
#4. new LG Chem graphene LiPoly Battery
#5. 120hz Promotion HDR OLED display made by Samsung
#6. Apple Pencil 3 with next Gen Haptic/Taptic motor “Feel the Art” is the marketing tag line.
#7. Next Gen FaceID smaller faster
#8. 40 watt Fast Charging
#9. 16 Core GPU

Apple pulled this stunt before. They release an Amazing iPad Pro 9.7” less than a year later was the 10.5” with the 120hz Promotion Display which everyone wowed over. A year after that the 11” Pro put everything to shame.
They are repeating that.
2020 iPad Pro meh it’s ok. A12Z same node meh
2021 iPad Pro meh 14X 5nm node maybe a new Display (sans 10.5” iPad Pro)
2022 iPad Pro It’s big boy time. A15X on TSMC 3nm 12 or 16 Cores.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a press release on March 30th announcing ready to order with availability on April 6 lining up to iPadOS 14.5 release

Seems feasible given the expectation of a spring launch. I wonder what the stock situation will be like, I often like to sit out the early weeks of a product launch as units built for the initial stock build up seem to have a slightly higher chance of random manufacturing errors, but I don't want them to sell out and it be months before they get stock back in!

Personally I’ve had better luck with Day 1 devices than later ones. My iPhone 5 was a steaming pile with multiple issues when I bought it a couple weeks after launch. My iPad Pro was a launch day unit that had a misaligned volume button but never had a dreaded ‘white dot’ (unlike the replacement unit. Thanks Apple!). iPhone XS Max, no issue launch day. MacBook Pro 2018, bought the weekend they came out and have had no problems, even with the keyboard.

The UK dates probably are to do with this being Easter Weekend (Friday 2nd April and Monday 5th April) meaning no shipping those days.

Looks like the 11” Pros all have a lead time of April 2-5 in the US, whereas the 12.9” all are ready for delivery ‘tomorrow’. Meanwhile, very few Apple Stores around me (Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas) have any iPads in stock, and the ones that do seem to be higher end, e.g. 11” 1TB or 11” 256 w/ Cellular.

Yeah I've noticed that as well, week before last - local Apple Store had a lot of iPads in stock. Now? This last week? None!

Edit: Ok, today they're all in stock again. Ignore. lol.
