Gmail itself has offered push notifications since a week or so ago. I haven't tried that, but it would be worth a try since it is free. Directions for setting it up for the iPhone are on the Gmail web site.
Gmail itself doesn't actually offer push notifications - it just pushes the email to your phone. You don't get any kind of pop-up on your screen when you get an email.
I spent money because the account I most want notifications for won't work with Mail.app, nor will it push. (Lotus Notes - ugh, but no choice.) But I can forward a copy and get notice immediately that mail has arrived. With the latest PushMail I can either look at the first few lines of messages that are forwarded, or I can go to Lotus iNotes to pick up the full message. Not perfect, but as close as is currently possible for Lotus Notes on the iPhone.why spend money
you guys dont use the stock mail.app and just add your gmail account to it? it has push and its pretty fast. why use another app when you can consolidate all your emails in 1 app? just wondering..
Pushmail You can use multiple accounts by forwarding emails to it, also you setup filters as why would you want to be notified for every email? Also more secure. Its a lot more reliable than any other ones, lets not forget the Gpush feck ups when it first came out and Pushmail was the best then also.
EDIT: The new version 2.0 has made it unmissable, check out the features here!
