I've played computer games my whole life and have never had motion sickness. I've played HL2 on PC before on a smaller screen and had not problem. When I play HL2 on my 27" mac i get sick after about 30-40 mins and feel terrible. I've played MW2 and MW1 on bootcamp on my 27" and haven't had a problem.

I'm really not enjoying HL2 but I'm not sure whether it's because it just sucks or because I feel sick the whole time.

Does anyone else get this on HL2?

A friend of mine used to get motion sickness from playing World of Warcraft. She used Sea Bands to avoid this. I can't personally vouch for their effectiveness since I don't get motion sickness.

I get exactly the same thing, some FPS are not suitable for me :(

Im fine with COD but not Medal Honor, wierd.

There are certain settings in games that can cause this effect. You have to play with all of the settings and find out which one is causing issues. For me, CODWAW hurt my eyes after playing just 20 minutes. I messed with MANY of the settings over time and found that r_glowaffects or something like that was key. I turned it off and no more issues.

It's an odd thing, you just need to isolate the issue. Keep tinkering, do alot of google searching, you are not alone.

Try sitting a bit further away from the display.

This. If you are coming from a 19 or 22" screen and goto a 27" screen it doesn't seem like a huge change but if your field of vision is now 20 or 30% more focused on a screen with movement.. it can make a difference. It's no differnt that thinking about watching a normal movie at the theatre and then watching that movie on an iMax screen. Ok not that extreme, but you get the idea, your eye's see less of your surroundings so your brain tells you that your moving, or spinning etc..

If you play in a darker room, try turning a lamp on as well.
