FYI,

OK REMEMBER IT'S ONLY $.99.... MotionsX GPS Drive
IMO well worth a buck!! yes i know "i'll stick to my Navigon", "i'll stick to my Tomtom", "i'll stick to my Magellan"....

all that said.....
what a great GPS FOR A DOLLAR!!

if you've been wanting a GPS for iPhone but didn't want to spend $30-$100 buy this...

EDIT: 2/2/10
FRIENDLY HEADS UP!!
they just released an update (looks to be pretty sweet)
-LANDSCAPE!! FINALLY!!!
-and it looks like a revamped UI!! looks like they did a great job!
still $.99! My magellan is still my goto, but I keep this one around for the "internet" connected maps if i need them......
I have a travel day on Thursday so i'll give it a GO then....

EDIT: messing with it for a few minutes, they did a GREAT job on the revamp of the UI.... PRETTY DARN GOOD!!! unbelievable for $.99!! & IT ONLY TAKES UP 8MB OF SPACE ON THE PHONE!

Isn't this app normally $2.99? It's a subscription service, so is a sale of $1.99 REALLY that much of a difference?

ya ya ya... i know... not much of a "deal" but figured if someone wanted to get into the GPS game they should grab it for $1 (i'd say well worth the $3 also)..... it's amazingly great GPS for a buck...

your point taken, just a friendly heads up.....

I just didn't want people to jump on this, thinking it normally a $99 TomTom or something like that. It's absolutely worth the price, even at $3, and I see with this .99 sale, you get the first month of service free. Certainly worth a buck to at least try it out for a month!

The subscription service is only if you want the voice turn by turn feature. The rest of the navigation features still work without paying for the service.

I just grabbed it after reading this. Cant beat it for a buck plus free turn by turn to San Fran next week will really let me test it.

Thanks OP for showing us

I think I'll give it a try. I don't need GPS much as I don't travel much outside my established routes but it may come in handy sometime.

I've been using it for a month. Inside the city, Edge is good enough but on the highway you need 3G to download the map tiles at a usable speed.

All in all its more than worth it for the money. I think I will subscribe for turn by turn voice directions. My free trial has just expired.
