'Moto X' revealed by Motorola CEO @ D11

While it's not exactly called the 'X' phone, it seems the rumors of Motorola creating it were true.

The Moto X will be built in the United States (outside of Fort Worth, TX, to be specific) in a former Nokia manufacturing facility. The device will be broadly distributed and Motorola has received 'fantastic' support from the carriers. He claims the device will ""know what you want to do before you do." He also talks a little about battery life and revealed that there are two processors inside the phone.

big.LITTLE? Or is it literally two processors...? Well I'm pretty excited, regardless, even though it isn't a pure Nexus device.

This definitely could be stock Android, but no way of knowing for sure just yet. But this definitely seems to be the phone to wait for.

I mentioned in another thread that someone who works for att sales flow told me they have been working on the sales flow for this product. He didn't tell me much, but he gave me the example "wake up phone" and the phone turning on. That kinda seems what the OPs mentioned. Obviously it may be BS, but that article makes me think he was not lying. Especially when motorola says, "Motorola has received 'fantastic' support from the carriers."

There was an article in PC Mag that interviewed the design chief at Motorola and he said the next wave of phones from them will focus on a "just right" size, slimming down the bezels, addressing durability, and keeping the software as bloat-free as possible (likely with stock Android). Coupled with this update, the Moto X sounds really promising.

The primary driver for the Google acquisition of Motorola (this was no partnership) was for the patents. As you may recall, 2 years ago was one of the high points when major companies were competing with each other to snap up patent portfolios in the ongoing battle to squeeze out competitors.

With Google, it appears the patent portfolio was not as valuable as perhaps thought and now I suppose is the time for Motorola to show that they can be a profit source. They have not been up to now but with the "X" phone they could well make a reasonable dent, coming out mid-cycle (between the S4 and HTC One) but before the Note 3 and iPhone 5S.

I think Google have to say that to be politically correct and not upset the other manufacturers - who dominate far more than tiny Motorola.

Not keen on motorola's aesthetics phone wise so far. (too 1970's science-fiction prop like for me) But looking forward to see what they do with the X phone.

I think it depends on how the phone is sold. As long as it is sold by the carriers, it may be subject to the carriers getting their hands on the update before the general public does. That is the issue with non-nexus devices...they have to go through both the manufacture and the carrier. Maybe they will pull a samsung and give consumers both options.

I have a feeling it won't run stock android, yet. The rumors from months ago about google phones from different manufactures is coming true. It seems each major manufacturer will release a google version of their phone after the mobile carriers release.

i will be definitely waiting for this awesome flagship phone, i hope motorolla makes a great comeback.
but the thing is, i dont want it to run stock android.

Actually it's disappointing news I thought Google was gonna run Motorola like there nexus line. I guess they wouldn't be selling out of the play store then.

Yeah, AMOLED screens are pretty horrible.
