Anyone see this yet? Looks like Motorola is joining the bandwagon and making an iPhone X Clone. While I am not pleased that they cannot seem to make an original design, this could be my next phone. Powered by Android One and rumored to have a 5.8-5.9" screen. I would love it if this came with an OLED display, built in wireless charging, and a price tag around $400-500. Realistically though this is likely to have an IPS display. Built in wireless charging might still be possible though considering this does not look like it supports Moto Mods.

Updated:

Looks like there will be two variants of the Moto phone. The variants will include a smaller (5.7-5.9” screen) Motorola One and a larger (6.2” screen) Motorola One Power with a large battery. Looks like these are US variants of the Lenovo Z5. Media event scheduled for August 2nd.

Definitely interested in this phone if priced appropriately. Would ditch Samsung and iOS in a heartbeat.

Wow..most shameless copy yet. Lenovo playing chicken with Apple’s lawyers on whether they’ll litigate or not. Considering they haven’t let Samsung off the hook after all these years, I wouldn’t bet against Apple coming after Motorola, if this phone is the real deal.

Apple knows who is their competitor, obviously Samsung. Consider Motorola is the minimum threat to them. Not worth suing them. After all how many lawsuits they are going to file in the US, where they can win sometimes. In UK Apple did not win lawsuits against Samsung, they have to end up disclosing Samsung did not copy their pattern in every ad Apple put up :).

It's so blatant. I'm embarrassed for Motorola.

Yup. And to be clear, I’m not saying Apple cornered the market on minimal bezel design as they clearly haven’t, nor were they the first. That design though is very nearly identical to the iPhone X. Take the M off the back, ask random folks ‘who makes the phone?’ and I’d wager nearly all say ‘that’s an iphone’.

Has a notch, too big. No thanks. But, I did look at Motorola as a replacement to my Galaxy S7 til I got my S9 for half price on preorder.

Looking to me like the one power is the international version of the Z5.... Disappointing since the Z5 has a 6.2 inch LCD....

Well, what can you expect from Lenovo?
Prior to Lenovo, Motorola had a solid lineup. X for flagship, G for mid range, and E for value.
Post Lenovo, it’s all messed up. There’s the flagship Z, but Z3 Play only sports mid range chip. X becomes a mid range for some reason. The lower end is a mess with Moto E, C and M, some basically have the same innards. The only consistent one is the G.

And now we have Moto One.

And these companies keep wondering why they cannot make as much money. Go figure.

I do give Lenovo credit for embracing the Android One program. It’s about time more OEMs adopt this program. Time has proven that these OEMs are not good with software, so just focus on the hardware and let Google do the software.

Well looks like there will be two phones with this design.

Motorola one: "smaller" phone with roughly same specs but smaller footprint and battery.

Motorola one power: large screen, large battery.

Announcement set for August 2nd.

Interesting article...

Moto One might be as thin as the Moto Z according to them. Also if you look closely at the renders between the Moto One and Moto One Power you can certainly see a size difference in the screen (Android system buttons are closer to the edge on the Moto One render)

My guess is the Moto One is a 5.7-5.9" device with a standard 3000-3300 mAh battery and a snapdragon 636 where as the One Power is a 6.2" device with a 3700+ mAh battery and same processor.

Wow that design on the One. I remember back in the 90s when Motorola was one of the big players and clearly had their own identity. They certainly seem hell bent on destroying whatever is left of that. I can't believe big companies really decide to pull cheap moves like this. What do they really stand to gain? A few measly bucks from the odd loser who thinks they're actually buying an iPhone X, or tries to look like they did?

First of all, Motorola is now owned by Lenovo.
Second who cares if it resembles a iPhone? You people get too hung up on crap like that. Either if appeals to you for the cheap price running stock Android and getting faster OS updates....... or it doesn't. Why even bother complaining that it looks to much like an iPhone? If you aren't interested in one then move on. My biggest disappointment with it , is it has that stupid notch.

Whoa, chill out man. "You people"? Thanks for the generalization. I'm just honestly baffled why people make such a blatant copy of a well known and standout design, be it an Apple device or not. Motorola is still a well known brand regardless of whether they're owned by Lenovo, and to me it seems a move like that will only hurt their confidence in the public view. I'm disappointed when companies choose to truly copy someone else rather than come up with a design of their own that adds to the diversity of available devices. That's all there was to my comment.
