Anyone get this? It's been out for a while.

I just bought it on Amazon ($10 coupon + Amazon Prime free trial = $49.99 with 2 day shipping!) so it should come on Thursday! Anyways... I didn't see a thread for the game so I made one. How do you like it? I've heard it's way better than Motorstorm 1, but I knew I'd buy it once I heard it had 4 player split.

Played the demo and the full game. Obviously it wasn't as 'fresh' as the original, and graphically I just wasn't blown over by it.

So ill stick with PURE! on the ps3 instead.

I was able to snag it for $39.99 from Amazon, its ok.. I never really got in to the first one and was expecting better in the second. Lets just say expectations have not been met.

Haha wow. So Macrumorers don't like it. Well... I enjoyed the first one, enough to buy the sequel. I just really need some more split screen games.

I love the concept and enjoy motorstorm. The first was bundles with my system and never had the motivation to play it all the way through. I downloaded the demo for Pacific Rift and it looks better.

I've actually heard that the demo sucks compared to the full game. Well... that's good to know, cause I enjoyed the demo.

I imported the first one from Japan 3-4 months early and it has been fun, but Motostorm is just like every other off-road racer out there.

I want a true off-road racing game, where it is one long race. Not this "do 3 laps around this convoluted track" crap they've been feeding us for so many years.

I'd really like to see a well implemented Baja 1000 racing game (I know there is one out right now, I read that it reeks), but I won't hold my breath.

As of right now, my two favorite racing games are Forza 2 and Dirt.

Hehe, 2 day shipping comes in one day :p.

Got it, I'll try it out tonight.

Stupid IGN award sticker leaving sticky crap on the case :(.

Lag switchers!! Why?

I'm not sure if you can but can a lag switch be used on motorstorm pacific rift , if so there are alot of people that can't win with out one , Me personally never used one plus don't need one , Ex: i finished a race tonight 1st and as i was waiting for the time to run down i droped to 2nd then to 7th , Can't people win th old fashioned way? . But motorstorm pacific rift is leaps and bounds better than the first don't get me wrong the first is a excelant game and i still own it but the second in the series is even better the geometary of the game is AWSOME come on Monster trucks WOW what a leap in the right direction

Got mine in post today. Only £20 from www.shopto.net

Played demo. Game certainly isnt great, but I like the option of multiplayer split screen, so can play with mates. Should be a laugh anyways!

Yeah very cheap from there, but for some reason it never accepts my bleeding CC details... typical. Oh well.

Only briefly played the first one, so can't really compare; but I enjoyed this one a lot - even though arcade-y racers like this one aren't really my style. Same manic play style (in particular, I love the Eliminator races where the racer in last place every 15 seconds or so explodes!), fantastic feeling of speed.

Some great racing locations (I loved The Edge, in particular; where you're racing along a narrow cliff-top at an angle of about 45 degrees - I still have a crick in my neck from that level). Plus, some great selection of race-setups. In one race, you're the only one on a motor bike in the middle of 15 big rigs & monster trucks. In a later race, it's reversed (Reveeeeeenge!)

The biggest drawback for me was the lack of real unlockables as you go on. You do unlock drivers & vehicles; but the change is purely cosmetic. Plus, there are no new race-tracks as you go on. It would have been great to have a new track or even a new zone unlock when you reach the end.

Which is why you wait for next year's loads of DLC. :D

A cut down game where you later pay extra to make it complete isn't a good thing.

Hehe, look at Gears of War 2. They released a $10 3 map pack within a month. And MS1? That was a cut down game that they added DLC to complete it, but only because they had to make it by PS3 launch. MS2 already has a great amount of features, and "a lot" of this DLC is supposed to be free. Finally, they are waiting until next year to start the DLC because they need to get "all rested".

Anyway.. I mentioned this in another thread. but...

Once were all rested its back to the development bunker to finish off the DLC we have lined up for you guys in the coming months. We’ve got a pile of stuff waiting in the wings, and, you’ll be glad to know, a lot of it is free. We’re going to try and give you something new to play with every week, and we’ve also got some major packs in development that should be on the store after Christmas.

Oh yes, and that's also super weak. But this is MS and Epic so...

But MS2 wasn't a launch title.

Some devs are really losing the plot. Desperate to fight back against the second hand game market.

You don't get my point. Motorstorm 2 has a good amount of features. Nice amount of maps, vehicles, and drivers. Splitscreen, custom games, online, screenshots, etc.

Not quite the same - if you have to buy it. I'd rather earn it through my unequalled driving, drifting, and landing-on-my-opponent skills! :p

I know they're very, very different games, but I'd rather see a progression like in Forza 2, where if you win a series you unlock a car which you can then use to race online. Add in the ability to customise your car, and it give a massive incentive to play through the more difficult series and unlock the more rare vehicles.

Ok I managed to buy a copy yesterday in the sales. From €69.99 down to €29.99 which was alright.

However I am dissapointed. Graphically I don't think the game looks as good as the first at all. There is certainly more AA issues in the new version, and the general layout of some of the levels leaves a hell of a lot to be desired.

There are elements they have improved, but for each that they improved, they seem to have weakend the stronger ones of the first.

I prefer PURE!

However I am ALWAYS dissapointed....

Fixed it for you :D

In all seriousness though I do agree with you, I played my copy maybe once or twice and its never left the shelf since.

I think I might pick this up...I recently got Fable 2 for free and I saw MS2 for like $30.00 so thats a no brainer.

I wouldn't mind playing it but I just wouldn't pay cash for a racing game unless its GT5 with the racing wheel....sweet I tell ya!
