Mount iPhone as drive

hey friends, = please help for query
as iPhone auto detect drive in windows so we can copy pics from it
why mac OS x not show iPhone as drive ? if not how can i do it
i want iPhone as drive in mac OS , im using mountain lion in mac-book air

as windows detect drive in my computer .....

If you just want the pics, open Preview with the phone plugged in. Click File>Import from [name of phone]

as u said use preview also image capture is too good, i know that
but i want iphone as drive in computer.. just want to know is it possible ??

is there a way to do this and delete all the photos in the iPhone, at the same time?
the videos are imported too?
