We all know that HBO Go doesn't stream to Apple TV via iPhone or iPad. But has anyone tried it with Mountain Lion yet from the website (hbogo.com)?
Confirmed...HBOGo and Hulu both work with Mountain Lion Airplay mirroring.
How's the quality for everyone? Seems pretty poor for me. I'm trying to play with the settings. Anyone have any luck making it look really good?
After purchasing and installing the upgrade, I quickly went to test the AirPlay mirroring only to find out that it's not supported in computers that are over a year old. What a disappointment. Hopefully someone is able to release a hack to enable it on these "outdated" devices.
The only challenge I've found is that there is 'no backward control' - it would have been nice for the ATV remote to control the Mac the same way the remote would have controlled the Mac if done directly.
Video looks a bit compressed over wifi, but watchable. Going to have to buy a Gigabit switch I think.
I just brought my keyboard and trackpad into living room, was only the next room though.I got it to work with all the websites last night... but the bummer is that you have to enable airplay from the computer, instead of being able to toggle it from the Apple TV itself. You can work around that too (Splashtop Remote to mirror screen to iPhone to turn on airplay on your Mac, then Splashtop Touchpad to mouse and keyboard around once your mac is on the screen), but its hardly an elegant solution, and unless I am being REALLY lazy its quicker to just walk upstairs and turn this on.
I was really hoping this would allow me to use my Mac Mini as a centralized HTPC, but it appears as though functionality is about 10% away at this point.
Anybody figure out how to turn the computer screen off while mirroring? I tried the usual ctrl-shift-eject, but it froze the video and continued to stream the audio.
