It seems as though Mountain Lion has broken the functionality of iCal running scripts. Many people used this feature to download podcasts at a certain time of the day, but Mountain Lion's 'Calendar' only provides the option to open a script, therefore launching Applescript and not actually running it as it used to in 10.7. Has anyone got any good alternatives to recommend? They would be most welcome.

Keyboard Maestro

Ouch, I'm sorry to hear that Mountain Lion does that.

Keyboard Maestro can execute applescripts at times you specify. It can do a lot more too.
