mountain lion randomly reboot after 10.8.3 update

Anyone have this issue? I applied the 10.8.3 update a few days ago, Now i got random reboot, really bad, rebooted twice today while i am in the middle of editing, I am bumping my head against the wall.

By the way, I have a mid 2010 macbook pro. It used to give me black screen when I had lion, changed to mountain lion and have no issues, until this update!

Anybody in the same situation?

Yes, the same thing here with my MacBook Pro 17' Late 2011.
Don't know what seems to be the problem, the last things I did before this happened was I did try to install Windows 8 Pro with native EFI and wiped out the entire disk via the installer's Command Prompt. But knowing that was all in vain, since I cannot install it a MBR partition, I restored my Time Machine backup and I did an official Boot Camp install with a MBR partition with Boot Camp Assistant.
Now what I did was I booted into Recovery HD and repaired both the disk and the OS X partition. Fingers crossed and awaiting if the issue's resolved. Will get back to you soon after the result.

I actually just found out that it is the same problem with once the black screen problem. Basically there are a batch of mid 2010 macbook pro machine that randomly goes dark screen, and there is no way to wake it up except to hard reset it. Apple acknowledged the problem and some lucky guys were able to replace their motherboard, unfortunately I am the unlucky guy that was told my computer does not belong to the defected category. Anyways, I installed gfxstatus and life goes on. Things went back to normal after I installed mountain lion without using gfxcardstatus, until apple released the damn 10.8.3 update that is supposed to make the system "more secure and stable", So here I am, using gfxcardstatus again, forcing the system to use integrated display card only. Seemed like what they deemed to be stable means only trouble to me.

Swapped the 4G memory for 8G. No other update. but even that's fine when I had snow leopard. The problem only occur when I upgraded to lion or mountain lion, or probably the "more secure and stable" new OS that they put out .

I did the same thing. I popped in 8 GB instead of the 4GB that came with my late 2011 MBP. I then got greedy and popped in 16 GB. Meanwhile my machine has not been stable starting with 10.8.1 so I've had a miserable few months. I dropped back to 8GB of memory which I considered a necessary step to get Apple to look at my problem.

I complained about my most recent issue in this thread.

I've had a couple of kernel panics, a couple of random reboots and several instances where I got tired of waiting and hard rebooted. I'm not feeling that OSX 10.8.x is all that stable right now. The rest of our family is all on Lion with no problems. After the months of misery I've been through, I'm considering skipping 10.8.3 altogether. I'll see when I get home this evening if yesterday's fixes (which left me at 10.8 with a yet-to-be-installed 10.8.2 combo update sitting in the downloads folder) still hold.

Me too, currently a project that need a computer 24/7. I should have stuck with my snow leopard and never have updated ever since.
