Mounting iMac on the wall

I saw a picture on this forum recently with this being done. I have also read though that it cannot be done with the new iMacs.

Is it impossible or do we just have to wait for somthing to be made that will fit the right way.

Check out the location of all the ports... how are you gonna connect anything to it (including power) or reach the on/off switch if it's mounted on a wall...?

You'd need to build it into the wall, more or less...

You can do it - products such as this (from Apple) exist to enable it.

You could only do it with the Rev A (and B?) iMac G5's. They removed VESA mounting as an option on the Rev C iMac (with iSight) I believe as they could no longer keep that possibility with the new "slimmer" form factor.

But they arnt compatible with the intel iMacs. I was hopeing there would be another product.

I was thinking the same thing. that guy must have a long neck. Good idea but it looks lame with the wires hanging all over the place.

You could always make a bracket yourself. Also, place it a couple of centimeters from the wall and you can use the ports at the back.

Any VESA wall mount should bring it far enough away too. It can't be flush with the wall without a big hole. But it can mount.

I wanted to do this a lot, but I'm happy with my walk-up station for now. If I want to not stand there, I curl up on the couch with my iBook.

You'd need an inch or two of clearance to make room for proper ventilation as well any port access. If I was gonna do that, I'd knock a hole in the wall and patch it back up so I'd have the power cord and anything else hidden. It could be a nice setup. That picture looks ghetto to me.
