I don't know how long Mojave has been about but my (lovely) 27" 9 year old iMac died - completely. Totally annoyed at young gun in Mac shop telling me I was lucky to get more than 5 years out of it. my old "VINTAGE" I am told, machine still looks new but it did die. so Mojave arrived 2 weeks ago ... I can't get past the failings of keyboard and mouse dropping out and not being available with usual 'wake up' calls.

I have googled and checked all things blue tooth, network, external hard drives etc etc. when the machine goes to sleep for longer than 2 hours I cannot revive keyboard OR mouse without plugging in 'recharge cord' yet both are charged 100%.

sorry, to be clear - the old machine is gone .... this is a whole new machine - delivered 2 weeks ago.

any ideas? thank you

So did it completely die or are you just having bluetooth and wake issues? Also what is the exact model, because if you have something that is 9 years old it wont support Mojave, I assume you have at least a 2012 model. Finally, do you have a complete backup?

oh sorry ... the old one is dead and buried ... this is brand new machine .... two weeks old. perhaps I need to edit my original post and make that clearer.

In that case I'm not sure what to say unfortunately. Did you migrate a backup from the old machine?

Just to update .... I have fixed this by going into preferences and unchecking "put hard disks to sleep whenever possible" and unchecking "enable power nap" in the Energy Saver section. FYI should anyone else experience the same with new Mojave machine. thanks to everyone who comes in to answer questions and help.
