I seem to have found a very strange bug in macOS on my Studio. Its not happening on any other Mac in the house which are all on the same version of macOS.

Occasionally, the machine will stop recognising the mouse/trackpad button when I'm trying to select a UI item. I first noticed it when I was trying to upload some images to a website. It would let me browse to the folder I wanted, but then wouldn't allow me to select any of the images to upload. A reboot fixed it.

Today, I was trying to change some media sharing preferences - it would let me go in to System Preferences, select Sharing, but wouldn't let me select any of the items - i.e. Screen Sharing, File Sharing etc. I could tab through the list with the keyboard, the pointer worked, but it wouldn't let me select anything. I hopped on to a machine to remote-in and the behaviour was the same. So I'm guessing something somewhere has hung in the OS?

Has anybody else see this with their Studio? Seems really weird that I can still move the pointer around and select some stuff, but at a certain "sub-level" of the UI, it just won't recognise the button input.

My Studio also seems to take ages to show up in my local network when trying to connect to it from another Mac on the same network.

Did you set up your Studio as a new computer or migrate from another Mac? If you migrated, you could have brought over something that’s not fully compatible with the Mac Studio or Apple Silicon. If you did migrate, it may be difficult to pinpoint the offending feature/function. Good luck!

Which peripherals and what's the chain?

I've seen issues on M1 Macs with some KVM switches where things just stop working after a while. When working directly with the Studio either plugged in directly via USB, or Bluetooth I've seen no issues whatsoever.

I've restored from Time Machine (which was a clean install, only a few days old), but the peripherals are the same ones as were connected before - Apple Magic Keyboard and Trackpad. So there's nothing complex or out of the ordinary. Its very strange.

Bluetooth.

It’s not happened in quite a though so I’d assumed its been fixed via software update.. but maybe not going by that other thread.
