Is anyone else experiencing a problem where the mouse cursor gets stuck or jumps around on the external display of the iPad? An example is when I go to print. The print screen will pop up and when I move the mouse over to the “print” button, the mouse will jump across it to another part of the screen. In order for it to work, I have to move the screen back to the iPad where it works flawlessly. This is only happening on the external display across the toolbar at the top or when notification windows pop up.

Additionally, when I am using my large monitor at home, I am not having the same issue. It only seems to be happening frequently on my smaller work monitor. Both external displays are connected using the same cables and the same adapters. This also was happening with iPad OS 17 after the last update. I was hoping 18 would have resolved it.

Does anyone have a solution?

I am havin the same Problem. Ever since I upgraded to iOS 18,my mose is skipping the last 3.5 inches of my monitor as if it was not there.

I am hoping they fix it soon. It is driving me crazy!

I had a similar issue but not exactly like yours. In my case it seems like its my cordless mouse acting up. Its like the coverage from the transceiver isn't as good as when I have my PC hooked up to the USB-C dock. Using cabled mouse it works.

After I did a hard restart things seem to be working better.

Interesting. My mouse works perfectly fine on the iPad itself. It is when it is used on the extended display that it gets weird.

Yes, my problem isn’t the same as yours, had the same issue on the iPad as well.
I haven’t updated my M1 11” to iPadOS 18 yet (on 17.7) and fired it up this morning with my dock and stage manger, seems to work fine.

I know USB-C docks can give strange behaviours from time to time.
Currently using three different ones, HP G5 USB-C, Satechi and an old Toshiba Thunderbolt dock.

The HP and Thoshiba has been updated a good few times with new firmware when there has been issues so check if your dockint station has FW updates available. Might solve the problem
