I haven’t used a mouse with my iPP yet - I’ve had an iMac, so on the rare occasions I’d use a mouse, I was using the iMac.

Just sold iMac to my daughter and her husband (it was pretty new, or I would’ve given it to them), because I just cannot really justify having both with my minimal use, and I use the iPad a LOT more.

That said, I do want to really maximize its use.

In what instances do you use a mouse with your iPP? Trying to determine if it’s something I would need. I have a iPP MK, but I also have a stand and separate MK I can use with it at my desk, where I could also utilize a mouse.

Just curious about connectivity, and whether I could have the Bluetooth MK and mouse stay connected and available even though I’d likely use the MK in between.

Hope this makes at least a little sense.

I've used the Magic Mouse with my iPad Air 4 (with a Combo Touch case with trackpad) at a desk for larger Numbers docs for finer control than I can get with the trackpad, but that was a pretty rare instance. In my experience, most of the time the trackpad and touch are easier than using a mouse. And so far I haven't needed to recharge my finger.

LOL yeah that finger thing does seem to hold a charge fairly well!

Thanks - I was just curious what people really use the mouse for. I am not a fan of the trackpad, although I have had a little more success with the one on the iPP’s MK than I have ever had on a computer one. I‘d only use it when my iPP was up on the stand on my desk, so just wondered if a mouse might come in handy in certain situations, and if they would stay linked up to the iPP when using the MK, or if I’d have to sync it to them every time.

I was thinking of having my “desk setup,” and then my go anywhere setup - the desk being the stand/keyboard/possibly mouse, and the anywhere being the MK, or of course just iPP by itself if I’m on the couch.

I use the trackpad on the iPP’s MKB for page scrolling, selecting text, and to access the “right-click” menu. At times, I will use Pencil for single tap functions. Since, my iPad is connected to the MKB 80% of the time, I prefer the MKB+Pencil combo over a mouse.

I use a mouse whenever I use a physical keyboard with my iPP, be it a BT keyboard or the Logitech Combo Case. I do't care for trackpads - I even bought the Trackpad 2 to give it another try. Nope. I use a Logitech MX 3 Master Mouse that can switch between my docked laptop and iPad with a switch on its base.

I debated between upgrading my 2017 standard iPad to a 2021 standard iPad, and my 2015 MacBook Pro to a 2021 MacBook Air -- or replacing both with a 2021 12.9" iPad Pro, Magic Keyboard, Apple Pencil, and Magic Mouse. (I have a 2019 27" iMac in my home office for the heavy lifting, so I wasn't looking to totally replace the Mac.) I prefer a mouse to a trackpad, so I almost always used one with my MBP, usually on a lap desk when I was sitting on the sofa. Using the Magic Mouse with my iPad Pro in the same way has been flawless; I've had no Bluetooth connectivity problems. I find my finger inadequate for anything involving text, because I'm rarely able to insert the cursor exactly where I want. The mouse solves that problem.

I have a 3rd gen IPP Pro12.9 and Magic Mouse 2. I use the mouse extensively. Very rarely use the pencil anymore. I have an iClever Bluetooth foldable keyboard that works great with the IPP. When I head out with my IPP, I put the mouse and keyboard in the felt carrying case that came with the keyboard, all my cables and junk in a PD Accessories pouch and I’m good. The mouse stays charged for about two weeks (using it about 3-4 hrs/day). This might not be ideal for you but a mouse is a great addition. I also carry a RavPower 26,000,000,000,000ah battery with Type A, C and Micro USB ports so I can charge any and all of my stuff on the go.

I use a 2.4Ghz Razer mouse with my iPad Pro 11 via a USB C dock (Anker). I also have my Apple keyboard plugged into it so I can very quickly switch it between my iPad and my MacBook Pro. Works really well when I want to use my iPad like a desktop with my 4k monitor.

Bluetooth likes being connected to one device at a time - unless you get a Logitech mouse (or another mouse) with multi-device connect options. I have a Vertical MX Logitech mouse that can connect to 3 devices at once when my hands hurt.

I should have specified that I ordered a Magic Keyboard during a one-day Amazon sale, but it won’t arrive until early January. I’m currently using a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Apple Pencil with my iPad Pro, all at the same time, and I haven’t had any connectivity issues.

Only 2 instances in which I use a mouse with one of my iPads:
1. Remote desktop
2. Video watching while having a meal in the kitchen (so that the iPad can stay at a safe distance from the food and not get dirty with my hands)

I actually use a Magic Keyboard with numberpad and a Magic Mouse extensively with my 12.9”. If I’m working for longer periods of time I enjoy it more than with the iPad Magic Keyboard.

The experience really makes me want a 16” iPad Pro with some official Apple stand.
