Do you think apple will ever fold and offer mouse capability for iPad? OR do you think Microsoft can make a mouse that will work with the iPad with its office apps? With all the dang accessories that are out there, why can’t someone figure this out ... it’s literally the only thing that holds me back from being a complete laptop companion where I could reliably travel with iPad only!

i have concluded that unless Apple gets some stiff competition, they won’t be adding mouse support. having said that, there are some ipad apps that DO support mice... i use Jump Desktop to remotely connect to my imac and it supports a special bluetooth mouse. it works wonderfully.

I think we may see it in iOS 13. If on schedule, macs will be able to run iOS apps, which means the compatible apps will have cursor support.
