iPod .mov files in itunes wont play on ipod????

hi im sorry if this has been asked alot but does anyone know why apples .mov files cant be copied to a 5th gen ipod video, i have them in itunes but they wont copy over which i think is odd seeing as it is apples format.

does anyone know a work around or what file type they need to be to play

This site shows the supported video formats. Does your video file match the specs?

hi there....

it was converted from avi to .mov using quicktime itself, but none that have been saved via quicktime works tho they do in itunes

Which format did you use when exporting to mov? If you took an AVI and just did a Save As to mov then it'll still be in the same format (eg. DivX). You need to go to Export and choose an iPod-compatible format.
