Move command in Files app doesn't actually move the file; it copies it

I don't know if this is a bug in iOS 18.x or this is just the way it's always been.

When I select a file in the Files app and tap on the Move command to move it into a different folder, all it does is copy it.

I still have to delete it from the old folder manually.

Am I doing something wrong?

Has anyone else had this experience?
