I have a Mac Pro 2009, with 4 Hard disks. Advantage is that I have been able to separate data and applications. With previous OSX my homefolder was located on an other HD than OSX itself. So far so good.
Updating to Yosemite was a struggle. I was one of the users where the update did not work-out well (even on my 2012 Mac Book Air). After several tries, I had to decide to perform a clean install. The fact that I had a good backup of data (at least on the separate HD) made the choice much easier.
The clean install of Yosemite worked out well, except for the home folder location. In the standard setup, this home folder is located on the same HD al OSX. The instructions that worked out for Mavericks partially work for Yosemite. Copyoing the data to another HD is OK, but I'ts not possible anymore (at least not for me) to indicate where the homefolder is located. In Options/Users&groups, it was possible with a right click on the user to indicate/change the homefolder location.
Has this been changed in Yosemite and if so, how do I change the location of the home-folder?
