Move internal HD from bottom to top?

The literature that came with my Data Doubler states that you will “need a few additional components” to install SSD when the HD is in the top slot.

I don't see/hear any extra parts?
I installed the SSD and it does not show up in Disk Utility so It has to be a faulty connecter or SSD?
I removed the fan, antenna and cowling and checked the connection. Lifted it up and re attached it. Seems fine? No results.
I have an external 2.5” drive I can put the SSD in to see if it works and I can put the HD from the exterior drive in the mini to check the cable.
It appears to be much easier to install the SSD in the bottom slot (less components to mess with).
So, here is the question;
What do I need to place the HD in the top slot as it would make my test procedures ( and future updates to the SSD) much simpler?

For the disk in the top slot you need four rubber grommets and four screws to put it in the frame (the frame is already there). You also need the foldable SATA cable - there is some question (by me at least) as to whether the top and bottom ones are identical or need to be slightly different to fold accurately to the SATA board connectors.

The bottom slot just has two locating grommets that go into the case and the SATA cable.

I had two 2012 minis, a 2,3 i7 and a 2.6 i7. For the upper bay installation I used OWC Data Doubler full kit. It was excellent and included everything needed for the installation including the tools.

Initially I mounted the SSDs in the lower bays and moved the OEM HDDs to the upper bays. Eventually the 2.6 ended up with both SSDs which was a really great setup. Yosemite was on the lower bay SSD and Aperture 3 libraries plus the PS scratch disk were on the upper bay SSD. That setup made one heck of a great mini.

The SATA cables for the upper and lower bays are likely different, otherwise Apple wouldn't have 2 different part numbers listed for them in their exploded view of the system that I'm looking at.

I have the data doubler kit. The different SATA connecters are easy to switch on the drives. Thanks.
