Here is the deal. I have a notebook with two internal drivers (C&D) and two external drives (G&H). Currently iTunes is located on my C drive with the other iTunes folder under "My Music" on the C drive. I have all of my music on the G drive and all of my movies and TV shows on the H drive.

What I want to do is somehow get all of my music, movies & TV shows onto my D drive so that my content is with me when I am away from home.

I know I can just copy the files over from the drives and re-add them to iTunes but I really don't want to lose my album/movie art.

I am not sure how the "consolidate library" option works. If you have any advice I would be appreciative.

In iTunes preferences, change the path of your music library to the new location you want, and then use Consolidate Library...it should move everything to the Library Location you specified. Make sure you take a backup first, I can't be held responsible if it doesn't work :)
