My cMP 5,1 doors have been sticky for 4 years. I have attempted to fix them, but that never worked.
I am retiring my 1,1, which has been sitting unused for a number of years.
1. Does the 1,1 Optical Drive door assembly fit the 5,1? What about the 3,1 assembly? I have one of those, too.
2. Is it removable with just removing the optical drives and screw, but is further disassembly required?

there are some tricks, loosen the 1st screw you see and place a washer under it.

lossen those 2 screws what holds the bezel and arrange it.

make a bit room for the mechanic when shrunken. See the image.

taking the assembly out is a pita. Only if you are in the right mood ;-)

don't know if the Parts from 1.1 and 3.1 fit, guess yes. I never changed them, I fixed them.

sometimes it is enough to bend back the case a mm, needs tons of patience but works.

I pull the dvd drive and move the mechanism with the finger.

Then I carefully pull and press in all directions to see what make it stuck. You can also use a toothpick thru the front holes to see what movement is of any use.
