Move or transfer only all the Screenshots from iPhone iOS 9.x to Windows PC?

These few links/ answers do not satisfy my question because Screenshots folder was introduced only in iOS 9.x as per:

http://www.theverge.com/2015/7/8/8914505/apple-ios-9-beta-photos-screenshots

Also, I found a lot of tutorials/ sites that talk about How to Delete all Screenshots - But I'd like to Copy/ Move them before Delete.

The simplest way to transfer photos from an iPhone to PC selectively (not sync-all)

Transferring photos from iPhone to windows computer

I do not wish for other pictures to go at the moment, just tons and tons of Screen shots that I've taken over the last 2 years.

They are taking up a lot of Phone space and I want them "moved/ transferred" to the Hard Drive on my Windows PC i.e. they are deleted from the Phone disk/ memory after safely Moving/ Transfering.

  • "NOT all pictures" and not having to choose pictures individually
  • But entire collection of ALL SCREENSHOTS/ Pictures in the Screenshots folder that are on my iPhone as a Folder or Collection to my Windows PC.
How?

FYI
Tech Specs:
iPhone 5 - iOS 9.3.1
iTunes 12.x
Windows 8.1

On Win 7 PC (Win 8?), open "Control Panel", click on "Auto Play, scroll to bottom under "Devices" and find your "iPhone". (If your iPhone doesn't show up, connect your iPhone to Windows now and see if it shows.)

Make sure it's set to "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer".

If you have pictures in "Camera Roll" Or "Screenshots", Windows Explorer will pop up when you connect your iPhone to Win.

Just drill down in the Explorer folder until you see your screenshots/ photos. If you have photos in "Camera Roll", those photos will show up along with your screenshots.

Select the screenshots you want to keep and "Move" them to a new folder on your desktop. This will remove them from you iPhone.

All screenshots/photos can also be deleted/moved or coppied from this folder.

All screenshots are PNG's so when using windows explorer to browse your iphone, simply do a search for *.png and it will only show you the screenshots. select all > cut & paste to local folder on laptop > done!

This is the issue.
- I do not wish to have to manually select Screenshots through thousands of photos. Just wish to find some way to "isolate/ separate" them from the rest of the pics and then EXTRACT them from the phone.

Seriously? Is it that simple? Can you verify/ link to some documentation around this?
PS: If this does work, does it save the TimeStamps etc. ( Created/ Modified/ Times & Dates) of the Screenshots?

Yes, it's that simple. Pick one screenshot & move it to desktop and check the properties of the photo.

Yes it keeps the exif data. I use it in conjunction with Advanced Renamer to append the date to all my photos after I've transferred them and screenshots are appended just like all the normal photos. No documentation but I'm 100% positive.

So, based on your input I did a "Windows Search *.PNG" and found some 1X,000 PNG screenshots from several years.
The number windows found & the number showing in iPhotos - Screenshots is not the same bu maybe few 10s/ 100s off - Not a biggie.

So, would it be possible to extract it using a more intelligent IMPORTING app? Like for e.g. here it talks few ways:
http://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/iphone/how-transfer-photos-from-iphone-pc-3634431/

Also, read somewhere about people using Adobe Lightroom/ Elements to manage iPhone pics
Maybe this allows/ creates better/ dated folders for me? etc? Any thoughts?

How to transfer photos from iPhone to PC: Windows Import Tool
There is also an alternative way which allows you to import all pictures and videos to your computer through Windows' import tool. This method will not allow you to choose which photos you want synchronised, but will allow you to sort the imports by various folder names and name the individual files by Tag or Original Name.

This method is useful if you wish to unload every photo from your iPhone to your computer, but we felt the Windows Explorer option presented us with more flexibility.

How to transfer photos from iPhone to PC: iTunes
There are other methods of transferring photos from your iPhone to your computer, one of which uses iTunes to back up and save photos to your computer.

Most of us have iTunes installed, which makes this an obvious method to use, but iTunes' limitations (and the difficulty some older PCs have running the program) mean it only really makes sense if you use iTunes regularly for other purposes. Read next: iTunes 12.2 review.

How to transfer photos from iPhone to PC: Third-party software
Finally, there's also the option of using third-party software to help you transfer photos to your computer: AnyTrans, CopyTrans, Syncios, FonePaw andAppandora are among the many offerings out there which offer a comprehensive way of transferring your files from your iPhone to your computer.

These offer a variety of additional features but if you're just transferring photos and videos, Windows Explorer is a lot easier and cheaper.

Ok. I got the PNG's out using several ways.
- 3 ways: 1. Windows Explorer/ Search *.PNG, 2. iMazing 3. CopyTrans Photo
I will share more once I get one more thing done to organize them.

What's the Adv Renamer "Pattern" / "Renaming Methods" you are using? Please share as its been ages since I used ARen and I am not able to come up with something.

In most cases, <Img Year><Img Month><Img Day>_ is what I prefix the files with.

In some cases, I have to use the EXIF tags. <ExifTool:FileCreateDate>_ or <ExifTool:FileModifyDate>_

So, I ended up going with the .PNG search via Explorer .. Its simple.. Cut + Paster or Drag drop > Move here.. and then use Adv Renamer.

Apple could've create a simple "folder emulation" so that people could see/ copy/ move photos as they are on the iPhone.. But give it to them to..

Still would love to have an App that does that well. I think Copy Trans Photo's latest release might be doing that well.
