Move photos library from external drive

Hi,

I have a new iMac and want to move my photos library from an external drive to the iMac. Is there a simple way to do this? At the moment I am in progress of switching libraries to the one on the external drive, so the library is updating.

But is it the same the other way around though? From an external drive to my mac?

Oh yeah, even though those instructions are specifically for moving to an external drive, the other way around is basically the same - the process is: move the file, and use the ALT key during Photos startup to select the file location.
