Move widget to desktop

Hi,


I am using Sierra 10.12.1 and want to move the widgets from the dashboard to desktop. I tried various F12 techniques but it seems not working on this new version.


Any ideas please?

I cannot get this to work now either

Edit: after some playing around I have managed to get widgets to show on the desktop, however, when you open Safari for example, the widgets stay at the front which isn't really much use!
