moved folders to external, but still showing limited space on hd

i have a 512gb ssd
and i have moved over the itunes library and iphoto library to an external hd but i am still showing alot of used space.. is there a way of fixing it and having a clean

Did you delete the files off of the internal drive and empty the trash?
